The information on this page has been collected to help you understand how much it costs to use the internet from your mobile phone.
The charging rules to browse the internet from your phone will be specific to your operator and your individual calling plan - we have collected the details for each of the top 5 UK operators and provide links to their websites for more information.
If you want to be certain of the charges for your circumstances we would suggest calling your operator on 150.
General Expectations of costs
The costs of accessing the internet from a mobile have been quite expensive - but by June 2007 4 of the 5 biggest operators in the UK had introduced unlimited tariffs to access the internet.
These 4 operators (Orange, 3, Vodafone and T-Mobile) now provide unlimited internet access at a maximum cost of £1 for the entire day. All 4 companies also allow you to subscribe to unlimited monthly internet access - this costs between £4 and £7.50.
The survey we have done of the top 5 UK operators shows that if you do not have an unlimited tariff, the maximum cost you will pay to install uHavePassed is £1. The average cost for installation is 39p and the average cost per synchronisation is 10p.
If you are an Orange pay-as-you-go customer you must pay £1 per day to use the internet no matter how much you use it - there is no monthly access from Orange for pay-as-you-go customers. Think carefully about how you will use the software if you are an Orange pay-as-you-go customer.
Below are specific details for each operator - you can jump to the section for each operator by clicking on the following list:
How many days will I use internet with uHavePassed?
You can use uHavePassed whenever you want. Each time you correctly answer 100 questions you will need to synchronise with the website to upload those questions and download some new questions. It all depends on how often you are using uHavePassed and how many questions you get correct.
We would recommend to upgrade to unlimited monthly internet access while you are using uHavePassed and get all extra benefits of anywhere any time internet access, news, email, msn, myspace, beebo, facebook etc. This can be done for between £4 and £7.50 for both contract and pay-as-you-go customers with Orange, 3, Vodafone and T-Mobile in the UK.
